Fettercairn has unveiled the 2023 edition of its 18-year-old limited-edition single malt whisky. Last year, the Whyte & Mackay-owned brand released the first edition of the Scotch as well as a 16-year-old limited-edition.
The 2023 edition of the Fettercairn 18 Year Old follows in the footsteps of its predecessor and master whisky maker Gregg Glass, who founded the ‘ground-breaking’ Scottish Oak Programme. It utilizes a hand-crafted finish in 100% locally sourced Scottish oak barrels, and is said to be both innovative in style and substance, and celebrates “what makes Fettercairn different.”
On the nose, the whisky offers aromas of sugared almonds, baking spices, and a tropical sweetness of passionfruit and guava. The palate delivers exotic fruits, patisserie sugars, brioche, and spices with soft hints of berry fruit. The finish finds soft spice, cacao, and natural vanilla.
Bottled at 46.8% ABV, Fettercairn 18 Year Old 2023 will be available to purchase from premium and specialist retailers for £200 ($275 USD) per bottle. For more information, head over to the brand’s official website.
