The new Exceptional Cask Selection from Foursquare Distillery, Mark XXVI Magisterium, is a 16-Year single blended rum that showcases unique approaches to blending and maturation
Foursquare has unveiled its new Exceptional Cask Selection, Mark XXVI Magisterium, a 16-year Single Blended Rum. Each Selection rum is a rare release hand selected by Master Distiller and Master Blender Richard Seale, and are only made available when he feels they are of exceptional quality.
Foursquare Mark XXVI Magisterium is a blend of three 16-year Single Blended Rums, distilled in the copper Double-Retort Pot Still and the Continuous Twin Column Coffey Still of the Barbados-based brand. Two of the rums were double maturations, one aging three years in ex-Bourbon casks, then 13 additional years in Ex-Oloroso Sherry Barrels; the other aging nine years in Ex-Bourbon followed by seven years in Ex-Oloroso Sherry. The last was a Single Blended Rum matured entirely in Ex-Bourbon Casks for 16 years. All blending, bottling, and aging occurred entirely on-site.
Foursquare Mark XXVI Magisterium Tasting Notes

The palate is soft, elegant, and savory, delivering rich and full flavors across the palate, including hazelnut, dark cocoa, orange zest, lightly charred marshmallow, lingering hints of fresh blueberry, and smoke. The linger finish is soft, yet complex and enticing.
