Glenfiddich is honoring its new partnership with Aston Martin’s Formula One team with a bespoke bottle of 1959 whisky
Glenfiddich and the Aston Martin Formula One Team have launched a unique 1959 bottling, crafted to commemorate the racing team’s debut in Formula One. The bottle comes along with the announcement of a new multi-year global partnership between the two British brands.
Revealed at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Glenfiddich 1959 is drawn from a single rare sherry butt. The liquid offers depth and complexity, offering a sensory experience that “mirrors the elegance and high performance that Aston Martin brings to F1,” says the brand.
On the nose, the whisky offers rich oak, aged leather, tannin, beeswax and the unmistakable aroma of an earthen floor dunnage warehouse. The palate delivers flavors of oak, spices, cloves, dates, walnuts, Christmas pudding, and dark chocolate. The finish is dry and rich in tannin.
“This limited edition 1959 bottling represents a pivotal moment in history – the year Aston Martin first entered Formula One and won Le Mans. To honor this milestone, we delved deep into the Glenfiddich archives and unearthed this exceptional expression from that very year,” commented Brian Kinsman, Glenfiddich Malt Master. “It is a rare whisky that embodies the essence of this partnership, capturing the spirit of innovation and excellence that both Glenfiddich and Aston Martin have upheld for decades. The bottle is a tribute to our shared legacy, connecting the past with the future in a truly remarkable way.”
This partnership between Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula One Team looks to “redefine exceptional experiences, bringing whisky and motorsport fans together through unforgettable moments at the intersection of heritage and high performance,” says a press release. The one-of-a-kind Glenfiddich 1959 commemorative bottle will be released at some point during the partnership, and offers collectors, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts a unique opportunity to experience the mastery of Glenfiddich and Aston Martin Formula One Team in a singular expression.
