Glengoyne has unveiled the latest edition of its Cask Strength series, Batch 10. The new whisky marks one decade of the limited annual release.
Matured in a combination of American and European oak, comprising First-Fill Oloroso Sherry, Bourbon, and Refill Casks, Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch 10 is a truly rich, indulgent and fruity Scotch.
On the nose, Batch 10 offers crisp apple with juicy blackberries and pink peppercorn topped with toasted almonds and a sprinkling of dried coconut. The palate is decadent, delivering flavors of vanilla custard, crème brulee, and baked pears along with lemon peel and hints of sherry oak. To finish, the latest cask strength has a long, lingering end with honey and citrus.
Bottled at 59.2% ABV, Batch 10 delivers an undiluted and uninterrupted dram typical of the Highland distillers’ signature style.
“Each of the ten iterations in the Cask Strength series has showcased the much-loved Glengoyne signature style – rich, sweet, and fruity,” said Katy Muggeridge, Brand Director at Ian Macleod Distillers. “Batch. 010 is no exception – boasting notes of apple, berries, pink peppercorn and creme brulee. It’s a fitting dram to mark one decade of the series and we’re delighted to see it already picking up accolades.”
Glengoyne Cask Strength Batch 10 is priced at £85 ($108 USD) and available globally through specialist retailers, the distillery and via the brand’s official website.
In May, Glengoyne unveiled Batch 9 of its beloved Teapot Dram.
