Utilizing water from the French Alps, the new high-end Grey Goose Altius vodka will be exclusively available at the world’s best bars, nightclubs and restaurants.
If you want a shot of exclusivity with your choice in high-end vodka, look no further than Grey Goose Altius. The latest limited-edition expression from the heralded French spirits maker draws inspiration from the French Alps and is filtered at sub-freezing temperatures. It will first only be available at the world’s finest bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, beginning in Ibiza, Mykonos, and Saint Tropez.
Created with processes inspired by the natural effects of high-altitude crystallization that happen at glacial conditions, Grey Goose Altius is said to “yield a remarkably smooth vodka”. The spirit uses Alpine spring water and winter wheat from Picardie.
Grey Goose is known for its use of French winter wheat, but the use of spring water from the French Alps is a first for the brand (for their core bottling, they use spring water from Gensac-La-Pallue in Charente near Cognac). Altius features water that makes its way though Western European peaks before making its way into the vodka, which is filtered at a very low pressure of -24 degrees Celsius.
The vodka offers delicate alpine minerality on the palate, along switch soft green apple notes and an earthy undertone.
Each bottle of Altius is hand bottled and individually numbered with design elements at the punt that mirror the windswept peaks of the iconic mountain range. The bottle is said to be “a testament to unmatched craftsmanship and the unfaltering power of nature.”
“As the quintessential French vodka, it was an obvious choice for us to draw inspiration for our next great innovation from one of the most admired earthly wonders in the country,” says Grey Goose Master Distiller, François Thibault. “For Grey Goose Altius, we worked to develop a liquid with processes reminiscent of the rare phenomena that naturally occur at high-altitude temperatures in the Alps, to bottle the glacial smoothness that the mountains are admired for.”
Grey Goose Vice President of Global Marketing Martin de Dreuille adds, “We’re thrilled to officially introduce Grey Goose Altius. With consumers continuing to choose more premium drinks, we knew there was an opportunity to create a unique vodka that could deliver a new luxury experience inspired by the French Alps, from its bottle design to its liquid and its drink ritual.
The bottle will first be available in famous European nightlife destinations like Ibiza, Mykonos and Saint Tropez. It will then make its way into select U.S. cities in July and in Dubai this Autumn. It will be exclusively offered at the world’s best bars, nightclubs and restaurants in 700ml and 1.75L. Pricing is at the discretion of the venue.

Last year, Grey Goose launched a pre-bottled vodka martini. The brand describes the pre-mixed drink as the first of its kind from a major vodka brand.
