Cuban rum maker Havana Club has redesigned its Iconica Collection, launching a trio of rums bottlings created to represent the portfolio’s peak
Havana Club has revamped its Iconica Collection of extra-aged and rare rums with an elegant design representing the peak of their portfolio. The range features three expressions–Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros, Havana Club Gran Reserva Añejo 15 Años, and Maximo Extra Añejo.
For five decades, Havana Club has used its signature aging technique, pioneered by maestro ronero, Don Navarro, in the 1970s with the Havana Club Añejo 7 Años. Inspired by Havana’s La Giraldilla statue, each bottle is fixed with a golden Giraldilla and fluted structure across their range of rum.
Bottled at 45% ABV, the Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros was crafted and approved by the maestros del ron Cubano. The new bottle design has elements alluding to Havana’s sunrays and interlinking ironwork. It retails at $65.
Matured for a minimum of 15 years, the Havana Club Gran Reserva Añejo 15 Años is bottled at 40% ABV and holds the only age statement in the series. The new design showcases a pattern that “evokes the softness of rum” and its mahogany color. It retails for $230.
The most luxurious in Havana Club’s range, the Maximo Extra Añejo, is bottled at 40% ABV and retails for $2,756. Limited to 1,000 bottles annually, it comes presented in a hand-blown crystal decanter.
“This transformation is a tribute to our craftsmanship, our heritage and the vibrant Cuban culture that defines Havana Club,” says Absel Morales, one of Havana Club’s maestros del ron Cubano. “Each bottle in the Icónica Collection encapsulates the mastery of Cuban rum-making, a legacy now recognised by Unesco as a World Intangible Heritage. As maestros, we are committed to preserving and passing down these traditions, offering future generations an experience to be remembered and savored.”
The updated Havana Club Iconica Collection will be available globally over the coming months and widely available in retailers by early 2025. For more information, head over to the brand’s official website.
