Portland’s Westward Whiskey and independent bottler The Heart Cut have teamed up to launch a single cask American Single Malt.
The Heart Cut is partnering with Portland, Oregon’s Westward Whiskey to launch an American Single Malt–the seventh bottling from the independent bottler. The new offering is a special one-off single cask whiskey with only 396 bottles set to be made available.
The seventh iteration in The Heart Cut series, this bottled-in-bond release–meaning it’s been aged for a minimum of four years and comes in at least 50% ABV, among other things–was aged in a new American Oak cask. It offers notes of passion fruit, dried coconut, bitter orange, toasted almonds, and cacao nibs.
Co-founder, Georgie Bell says “We can’t wait to showcase our Westward Whiskey bottling and introduce whiskey enthusiasts and novices alike to this incredible American Single Malt. Westward is one of the best in the field, and we are so pleased to be able to work with them on this project and showcase the diversity of the category. This release is the perfect whiskey for summer, with juicy, tropical, citrus notes, it’s ideal for sipping neat or pairing with an American Pale Ale”
The Heart Cut Westward Whiskey bottling is available to purchase from the brand’s official website for £84.
In April, Westward unveiled its second club release of 2024, Vintner’s Cuvée. The offering from the Oregon-based whiskey maker utilizes red wine barrels from around the globe.
