Hyde Irish Whiskey Debuts Custom Single Cask Whiskey Program

Hyde Custom Single Cask Program

Hyde Irish Whiskey has launched a service to allow trade customers to create their own custom single cask, single malt Irish Whiskey that’s finished with their very own bespoke flavor profile.

The original single malt Irish Whiskey was first aged for six to eight years in a first fill, flame-charred, 200-litre Bourbon Whiskey cask from Kentucky. The single malt is then finished for an additional six months in a cask of the customer’s choice. There are over 20 cask types to choose from.

Cask finish options include: Sauternes, Banyuls Grand Cru, Calvados Cask, Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso Sherry, PX sweet, Amontillado, Palo Cortado, Fino, Moscatel, Madeira, Marsala, Armagnac, Apricot Brandy, and Vermouth, to name but a few. Making the Custom Single Cask Whiskey Program even more impressive is that If Hyde does not have the cask required, they will go out and source it.

Hyde will also design a custom bespoke label for the single cask release in their premium Hyde bottle with a natural bar top cork. Customers can choose their own alcohol strength (from 40% ABV up to 59% ABV cask strength), as well as differing levels of cask charring according to personal preferences.

Those interested in creating their own custom single cask bottle of Hyde, should head over to the distillery’s official website for more information.

In other Irish Whiskey news,  J.J. Corry Irish Whiskey has created “The Story,” the first Irish Whiskey made exclusively for, and launched through, an online community. The new Whiskey from the West Ireland distillery was created for the Irish Whiskey online fan group “Stories and Sips” and it’s 6500 members in America. Two hundred 750ml and 400 50ml bottles were made in November for pre-order and sold out within 4 hours.

Hinch Distillery, meanwhile, has launched an 18 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey finished in Château de La Ligne red wine casks. The new offering from the County Down-originated brand will be limited to just 650 bottles.
