L&E Oyster Bar

L&E Oyster Bar

A true neighborhood classic, L&E Oyster Bar has been serving bivalves, wine, and classic cocktails to Silver Lake denizens and curious visitors for over a decade now. It’s still one of the best places to end up on a Wednesday or Friday night (or any other night for that matter) and make a mean burger for those less seafood inclined. Those looking for a smaller menu, cocktails, and a hipper, more riotous crowd should head upstairs, while those focused on fish and wine are best served on ground level.

$$

What’s the crowd like?
If you’re downstairs, it ranges from families and couples to old friends catching up over a bottle of wine and fresh fish. Upstairs, the crowd tends to be a bit hipper and younger that lean creative (it’s Silver Lake, afterall).

What am I drinking?
Whatever wine you like to pair with bivalves or, if upstairs, a cocktail (we lean towards the white negroni).

Is there anything to eat?
It’s called L&E Oyster Bar for a reason, so order some oysters and while you’re at it maybe a shrimp po’boy or a whole grilled branzino. As mentioned, the burger is also an excellent option.

When should I get here?
Weekends tend to get pretty busy, so we’d recommend a weeknight dinner or early drinks. If you can manage to snag yourself a spot at the bar late night, count yourself lucky.

Why am I here?
Life is good at L&E. Bivalves and drinks not far from the Silver Lake reservoir without the bustle of Sunset, what’s not to love?
