Label 5 Bourbon Barrel is the first single grain whisky from the Central Scotland whisky makers who are best known for their blended offerings.
Label 5 has unveiled its first single grain whisky, Bourbon Barrel. The new offering from the blended Scotch whisky brand finds the brand stepping into a new era.
Distilled and matured at the brand’s home in Central Scotland, Label 5 Bourbon Barrel matures for over three years in first fill ex-Bourbon casks. The launch heralds a new chapter for one of the world’s top ten best-selling Scotch whiskies. The spirit is crafted in Scotland’s only fully integrated site to feature a grain distillery, warehouses, bottling facilities and a state-of the art approach to sustainability.
The well-balanced whisky keeps in touch with the house style. Flavours of vanilla and oak are delivered alongside the Bourbon Barrel’s subtle fruity character. A chestnut brown in colour, glints of gold shimmer throughout. The nose offers the previously described vanilla, wood, and subtle fruity notes, while the palate is smooth with hints of vanilla and oak coming through.
‘The UK launch of our first single grain whisky is a really exciting time for Label 5 and showcases the expertise and craftsmanship that goes into making our globally acclaimed blends,” says Jamie Stewart, UK Commercial Director, LMB UK. “We are confident that Bourbon Barrel will be a welcome addition to our range and a firm favourite amongst UK whisky drinkers.’
The brand recommends serving the whisky on the rocks or as part of a cocktail, such as an Old Fashioned or even a simple whisky and cola.
To mark the UK launch, Label 5 is returning as the official whisky of Yardworks. The internationally renowned festival of urban street art takes place on 4th and 5th May at SWG3 in Glasgow.
Bottled in 70cl at 40% ABV, Label 5 Bourbon Barrel, retails at £20 and is available in 191 Asda stores nationwide.
