The latest addition to the Old Forester 117 Series is an 11-year-old bourbon whiskey taken from the brand’s Warehouse I
Old Forester has unveiled the latest limited-edition expression to join its 117 Series, Warehouse I. The 11-year-old bourbon has been created to “capture the holiday spirit,” says the brand.
The latest addition to the 117 Series is made from barrels aged in Old Forester’s Warehouse I and offers a distinct flavor profile due to its unique maturation environment. These Warehouse I barrels were heat-cycled since 2013 and chosen exclusively from the hottest floors by Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo.
On the nose, the whiskey offers aromas of dark honey, peanut brittle, and toasted oak alongside hints of spiced pear, stone fruit, clove, and light-roasted coffee. The palate features juicy apricot and orchard fruit, leading to notes of butterscotch, clove, and nutmeg. The finish is slightly dry and oaky with pear and white pepper persisting throughout.
“Our 117 series is all about experimentation, and the characteristics of Warehouse I make it perfect for this innovative series,” Master Taster Melissa Rift added. “This one-of-a-kind bourbon is a great way to celebrate the holidays.”
Previous editions of the series include High Angels’ Share, Warehouse K, 1910 Extra Old, Whiskey Row Fire, Warehouse H, Bottled in Bond, and Rum Finish.
Bottled at 95 proof (47.5% ABV), Old Forester Warehouse I features a suggested retail price of $64.99 per 375 ml bottle. A limited quantity will be available at the Distillery starting at 10 a.m. EST on December 5, 2024 and is available for shipping in states where it is legal (KY, ND, NE, ND, D.C. only) in the brand’s online store.
