Olivetta

Olivetta

Located near the west end of the Melrose strip that holds celebrity hot spots Craig’s and Gracias Madre, Olivetta is a lesson in maximalism. From caviar service and wagyu beef tartare to Dom Pernignon and Lafite-Rothschild available by the bottle, this West Hollywood destination pulls out all the stops. This space is an elegant circus tent reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. Flowers and gems adorn the walls, while elaborate lanterns, plush booths, and lush greenery fill the space between.

What’s the crowd like?
Monied or in dire need of a celeb-sighting. Let’s be clear, there’s nothing cheap at or about Olivetta and the crowd reflects this. It’s also surrounded by celebrity hot spots, and most of the crowd knows this.

What am I drinking?
If you don’t want to spend the mortgage on a bottle of Dom or Lafite-Rothschild–totally up to you–we’d suggest going with a cocktail, like the Dirty Bleu Martini or Reposado + Passionfruit. There is also one of Los Angeles’ best collections of non-alcoholic cocktails.

Is there anything to eat?
Olivetta is a restaurant first, so you’re most likely here to eat. There’s the previously mentioned caviar and tartare as well as some excellent small plates and pasta options.

When should I get here?
The bar is open till at least 1am every night–and the kitchen till 11pm–so it’s a great spot for fancy late night drinks during the week.

Why am I here?
Posh eats and celebrity sightings. The cocktails are also quite good, even if on the expensive side, and if you’re really looking to “ball out,” Olivetta has all the fixings.
