Orphan Barrel dig into the warehouses of Linkwood Distillery in Elgin for its latest limited-edition single malt whisky, Woven Honor Aged 18 Years
Orphan Barrel has unveiled Woven Honor, an 18-year-old single malt Scotch from Linkwood Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. The new release follows the May launch of the brand’s Indigo’s Hour bourbon.
Orphan Barrel Woven Honor aged for 18 years in American Oak barrels from the distillery, which sits on the outskirts of Elgin. The resulting whisky is smooth and medium-bodied, delivering grassy and floral notes, alongside hints of green apple, lemon zest, vanilla, and honeycomb. The palate is light and looks to “invoke the freshness of spring,” says the press release.
Founded in 1821, Linkwood Distillery is noted for its time-honored process of patience, letting whisky age to its full potential. To pay homage to this liquid’s heritage and careful production process, the artwork features a spider scrupulously constructing its web in undisturbed artistry, representing how this whisky was crafted with similar precision.
“Woven Honor is an exceptional Single Malt for those who treasure rare spirits and seek to capture a piece of whisky history,” said Diageo Whisky Specialist Peter Milne. “The liquid is a testament that true craftsmanship and quality are achieved through patience and the natural course of creation, just as the bottle’s label design symbolizes.”
Since 2013, the Diageo-owned brand has released over 13 whiskeys from Scotland and the United States that focus on unique distilleries and production methods.
Bottled at 46.3% ABV, Orphan Barrel Woven Honor Aged 18 Years is available at select spirits retailers nationwide with a suggested retail price of $185 per 750mL bottle. For more information, head over to the brand’s official website.
