For a limited time only, you’ll be able to get your hands on the famed coffee-tequila combo.
When Patrón XO Cafe went off the market back in late 2021, the drink world was gutted. Bars, bartenders, and that entire set of beach-loving party aficionados who go from dawn till dawn no matter how much tequila and caffeine they’ve consumed mourned the loss of the, let’s be honest, only tasty alcoholic caffeinated beverage on the market. And while obtaining bottles on the secondary market was/remains an option, suppliers tend to charge upwards of $100 per bottle. But weep no more! Patrón XO Cafe is coming back, though only as a limited-edition.
Let’s start with the bad news, according to Patron, this is a one-time thing and only a limited number of bottles will be released (but like Springsteen’s last show, who really knows). In good news, Patrón XO Cafe is returning to markets nationwide in its original format, which means there’s a good chance you’ll be able to find it at a somewhat local liquor store, Costco, grocery store, or wherever it is you get your spirited needs.
In case you forgot, or your new to this bottle, Patrón XO Cafe is created from PATRÓN Silver Tequila and Arabica bean coffee sourced from the states of Veracruz and Chiapas. Unlike other coffee liqueur/liquor combos the taste is dry, not sweet making it actually enjoyable to sip. It offers aromas of and flavors of fresh coffee, vanilla, and chocolate alongside notes of blanco tequila.
For espresso martini fans, the news only gets better, as it’s the staple ingredient in one of the better twists on the dessert cocktail:
Tequila Espresso Martini Cocktail
Ingredients:
- 1½ oz. Patrón Reposado
- 1 oz. Espresso
- ¾ oz. XO Cafe
- ¼ oz. Simple Syrup
- Small pinch of Sea Salt
Directions:

Bottled at 35% ABV, Patrón XO Cafe will arrive with an SRP of $42.99 USD per 750ml bottle. For more information, head over to the brand’s official website.
Last year, Patrón continued to grow its prestige portfolio with the launch of El Cielo. The heavenly new tequila followed in the footsteps of El Alto, which the brand launched in late 2022.
