Peychaud’s namesake fizz may not be its most famous cocktail, but it’s the perfect low-ABV drink for a hot and humid day in New Orleans
While the Sazerac and French 75 are what most swing by Peychaud’s for, the bar’s namesake lower-ABV fizz is perfect for any hot day spent wandering the French Quarter. The cocktail mixes cucumber and lime with the aperitivo, which is infused in-house with grapefruit, orange, and lemon.
Head Bartender Katie Firestone tells us…
Name the cocktail.
Peychaud’s Fizz
What inspired the name? What’s this drink’s origin story?
Peychaud’s Fizz was crafted with the Peychaud’s brand aperitivo. We wanted a drink with our namesake aperitivo that would be perfect in a courtyard setting, or walking around in the French Quarter. The cucumber and fresh juices paired with our infused aperitivo is topped with soda to create a refreshing and easy drinking tipple.
What other drinks belong in its family?
