Johnnie Walker has partnered with luxury skiwear brand Perfect Moment and shareholder Priyanka Chopra Jonas to launch limited-edition Blue Label Ice Chalet whisky
Johnnie Walker is exploring the world of après-ski with the launch of Blue Label Ice Chalet whisky, the second release in the brand’s Cobalt series, following last year’s Elusive Umami. The new Scotch finds the brand partnering with Johnnie Walker Blue Label ambassador and Perfect Moment shareholder Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who are also co-launching a capsule ski wear collection.
Inspired by “Blue Hour”–the moment between sunset and twilight on the slopes when skiing turns to socializing–Master Blender Emma Walker crafted the rare new blend using Scotch drawn from Diageo’s most northern and highest altitude distilleries, including Dalwhinnie, Clynelish, and old stock from the recently reopened Brora Distillery. It was predominantly aged in refill American oak, rejuvenated heavily charred casks, and ex-American oak bourbon casks, as well as some wine and sherry casks.
On the nose, sweet and creamy vanilla aromas combine with spiced apples and plums as well as a gentle wood spice. The palate delivers apples, berries, spices with some soft wood, gentle smoke and rich orchard fruits. The finish features soft fruity spice with a gentle smoke.
The partnership will also see Perfect Moment launch the Ice Chalet capsule ski wear collection, featuring coordinating designs. The whisky comes in the brand’s signature square bottle, which can be found in a deep blue reversible bottle bag crafted from a liquid blue and silver fabric. The bag doubles as a crossbody bag.
