Wu Tang Clan rapper Raekwon has teamed up with lifestyle bar brand Mover & Shaker to create limited edition strainer and pin sets. The barware celebrates the 25th Anniversary of The Chef’s iconic album, “Only Built 4 Cuban Links…”
“The Hospitality industry has been apart of my world for my entire career. From the hotels of London to the beach bars of Ibiza I’ve seen some of the illest bartenders creating the livest drinks ! I added this piece as part of my 25th year anniversary collection for OB4CL,” wrote Raekwon on his Instagram.
Speaking with Thirsty, the rapper added, “We’ve all been in our homes lately more than we are used to and I just missed the energy of being in these restaurants and bars that I love. I’ve been to so many places all over the world and I see the craft of bartending like writing a rhyme! You can be creative and imaginative and like music, it makes you feel good! The bar industry has always showed me super love that’s why I came out with my wine Licataa which is an Italian sparkling red and now I’ve created this strainer as a collectors piece for all my music loving cocktail makers out there!”
“Since its inception, Mover & Shaker has always valued fusing popular culture with the bartending community, and this collaboration with hip hop titan Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan is the pinnacle,” explained Mover & Shaker’s Nick Hogan.
Only 300 of the Raekwon x Mover & Shaker strainers and pin sets are available and are currently on sale at the barware brand’s official website for $100 each. The company sells its wares across the globe and will ship to most anywhere.
Elsewhere in the bar/glassware world, Italian glass maker Arnolfo di Cambio has released the Whisky tumblers from Science Fiction classic Blade Runner. If you ask us, there isn’t a much cooler drinks set up out there than a Raekwon strainer plus a Deckard tumbler.
