Teeling Distillery is celebrating turning six years old with the release of a limited edition Irish whiskey called Birthday Batch. Just 600 bottles of the whiskey will be made available to purchase.
Teeling Birthday Batch is a vatting of Dublin Distilled Single Pot Still and Single Malt whiskey. It is bottled at 56.6% ABV with no chill filtration.
On the nose, the whiskey offers tropical fruits with prominent peach notes, barmbrack and molasses, strong cereal notes with hints of gingerbread, porridge oats and allspice tones. The palate delivers sour green apples, which give way to pot still oil with herbal fennel spice, pink peppercorn and rosemary. The finish is long and warming with prolonged spice and dried fruits.
Since opening the distillery, Teeling have given back to local communities with a percentage of tours and the proceeds of their very first bottling of Dublin distilled Teeling Whiskey being gifted to local charities. With the Visitor Experience having been closed for much of the last year, this special release will generate some much needed funds with all profits generated from the bottle sales of this whiskey going to support charities, clubs and initiatives for local children and teenagers who have been particularly affected during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Teeling Birthday Batch is priced at €86 and available to purchase directly from the distillery.
In February, Teeling unveiled the third bottling in its Renaissance series, a collection of limited edition unique Irish Single Malts. Launched in 2019, the Dublin distillery crafted the series to celebrate the Renaissance of Teeling, Dublin and Irish Whiskey as it continues to be the fastest growing Premium Spirit in the world. The Renaissance Series Three bottling follows on from the first two award-winning releases, which won Gold at both the 2020 International Wine and Spirits Competition and 2020 Irish Whiskey Masters.
In January, Teeling announced the second release in its Wonders of Wood series, the Cherry Wood Cask. The new edition follows the release of the Teeling Whiskey Amburana Cask, which hit shelves back in November.
