Viajante87’s Culture Exchange Takeover Series Brings Latin America’s Best Bars To London

Viajante87 Culture Exchange 2024 takeover series

Viajante87 in West London will host six of Latin America’s best bars and restaurants throughout 2024

London’s Viajante87 cocktail bar is launching its “Culture Exchange” takeover series next month. The year-long program will honor the time Bar Director Pietro Collina and Brand Manager Veronica Di Pietrantonio spent in Latin America.

Kicking off in February, the series will see some of the best bars and restaurants in Latin America takeover the Notting Hill Gate bar to showcase offerings that would otherwise be impossible to enjoy without heading to South America. Venues from Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, and more will be showcased throughout the program.

The series begins with São Paulo’s SubAstor, after an incredible dinner offering from Metzi duo Luana Sabino and Eduardo Nava Ortiz. The series will continue each month with bars such as Hanky Panky, Alquimico and Florería Atlántico visiting Viajante87.

On Tuesday 13th February, the evening will involve a selection of dishes from chefs Luana Sabino and Eduardo Nava Orti of the highly acclaimed restaurant Metzi in São Paulo, which reached No. 18 in Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023, with Luana being awarded Forbes 30 under 30 in 2022. The dinner will run from 6:30pm to 8:30pm with drinks from the SubAstor and Viajante87 teams, and will be followed by a full takeover of the bar from Brazil’s SubAstor, which placed at No. 58 in the 51-100 of 2023’s World’s 50 Best Bars awards, from 9:00 pm to close.

Each of the following takeovers will follow the same format with a once in a lifetime dinner from some of Latin America’s best restaurants and drinks from the region’s best bars. The schedule for the rest of the year will include Costa Rican Selvática Social Club in March with Diengo Chou, notable Costa Rican chef, writer and sommelier; Florería Atlántico from Buenos Aires with chef Marsia Taha, a trailblazing chef from of highly acclaimed Bolivian restaurant Gustu; followed by Hanky Panky from Mexico City, No. 22 and Casa Oaxaca later that same month. In May, Viajante87 will be hosting Colombian legend Alquimico with restaurant Celele, also of Cartagena. The series will culminate in June with Lima’s Sastreria Martinez. Further details will be revealed later this year.

The Viajante87 Culture Exchange takeover series is the bar’s way of saying thank you for the incredible hospitality shown to them by each of these bars and restaurants. Individual tickets are available for each of the takeovers and cost £125, or can be purchased as a package for all 6 for £700.

Last November, Viajante87 unveiled its new cocktail menu, following a preview of a selection of cocktails in September.
