The latest Master’s Collection release from Woodford Reserve features whiskey finished Madeira casks and blended with wheat whiskey
Woodford Reserve has unveiled its fall 2024 Master’s Collection bottling, Madeira Cask Finish. The new release features the Kentucky brand’s whiskey, which was finished in Madeira casks and blended with wheat whiskey.
Woodford Reserve Madeira Cask Finish marks the 20th release in Woodford Reserve’s Master’s Collection. A warm chestnut in color, the whiskey offers aromas of dark cherries, brown sugar, and candied oranges sprinkled with clove and nutmeg. The palate features robust dried dark fruit notes of raisin and dried cranberries, which fade into walnut and baking spice. The finish is long and filled with candied walnut.
“Madeira Cask Finish is a tremendous way to celebrate 20 years of the Master’s Collection,” said Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall. “In 2007, Woodford Reserve was among the first bourbons to finish in wine casks. It was quite controversial at the time, but is now a common practice by other distillers. This 20th expression marks that historic milestone, with a new Madeira wine cask.”
Woodford Reserve Distillery introduced the Master’s Collection in 2006 with the first release of its Master’s Collection, “Four Grain.”
Woodford Reserve Madeira Cask Finish is available for the Suggested Retail Price of $179.99 per 700ml bottle. It is available at the Distillery and at select retailers nationally. It is also available for shipping in states where it is legal (KY, ND, NE, ND, D.C. only) via the online store.
In May, Woodford Reserve unveiled the latest addition to its Distillery Series, Toasted Bourbon.
